Toronto Maple Leafs head coach Randy Carlyle has received wave after wave of criticism during a recent slump that has dropped his team out of the Eastern Conference playoff picture.

In addition to the legions of Leafs fans who are extremely upset at the team’s six-game losing streak, former heavyweight champion boxer Riddick Bowe also is displeased, specifically with Carlyle.

Bowe actually called out the Leafs coach on Wednesday via Twitter, then explained how he became a Leafs fan despite being a New York native:

The Leafs enter Thursday’s slate of games tied with the Columbus Blue Jackets, Washington Capitals and Detroit Red Wings for the two wild-card playoff spots in the East with 80 points. However, each of those three teams have at least one game in hand on the Leafs. Toronto’s next game is in Philadelphia on Friday against the Flyers.

If the Leafs do miss the playoffs, Riddick already has expressed his interest to join the front office. What could go wrong?
