Milwaukee Brewers fans apparently have forgiven Ryan Braun.
The once-disgraced slugger played Monday in his first game since being suspended 65 games last year for his connection with the Biogenesis performance-enhancing drug scandal. Braun was widely vilified in baseball circles during the offseason, but Brewers fans welcomed him back with a standing ovation as he stepped to the plate for his first at-bat.
Some pundits on Twitter were not too pleased with the reception.

Standing ovation for Ryan Braun in Milwaukee is about the least surprising thing on Opening Day. Great message. Lie and we love you anyway.—

Standing O in Milwaukee for Ryan Braun. I guess they didn't get the memo. And I guess Aaron Rodgers isn't there.—

Braun followed the ovation by popping out to left field against Atlanta Braves starter Julio Teheran.
