In the modern age of social media, it seems face-to-face communication is as good as dead.
One person who might agree is NFL running back Darren Sproles. He recently found out on Twitter that the New Orleans Saints were planning to trade him.

The Saints originally planned to cut Sproles if they couldn’t find a trade partner, but ESPN reported Tuesday that the team now plans to trade him. Sproles set the NFL record for all-purpose yards in a season in 2011 and totaled 1,067 rushing yards and 21 touchdowns during his three years with the Saints. New Orleans, however, has a full bench of capable running backs with Khiry Robinson, Mark Ingram and Pierre Thomas, who has agreed to a two-year extension.
Sproles said Wednesday he would rather be cut, according to ESPN’s Josina Anderson.
“I want to get released,” Sproles said. “I don’t want to be traded. I don’t know where they would send me, because I have no control over it, and I want to be able to pick. The good thing is none of the teams I’m told they’re talking to are terrible. It’s more than two. I feel I should have more of an idea later on today.”
