A Florida judge has ordered Seattle Seahawks defensive lineman Michael Bennett to pay damages in a puppy abandonment lawsuit, TMZ Sports reported Monday.

The judge reportedly has ordered Bennett to pay $8,268.80 to Lucky Dog boarding facility, facing additional interest for every day he ignores the bill.

The drama began in March 2013 when the former Tampa Bay Buccaneer boarded his then-four-month-old Boxer puppy Koa with Lucky Dog in Tampa, Fla., while he made the move to Seattle. Bennett never returned for Koa, and the facility was left with a $5,000 bill.

Bennett recently signed a four-year, $28.5 million contract with the Seahawks.
