Shane VictorinoShane Victorino is not penciled into the Boston Red Sox’s Opening Day lineup.

The Red Sox placed Victorino on the 15-day disabled list before Monday’s season opener against the Baltimore Orioles at Camden Yards. Outfielder Jackie Bradley Jr. was recalled from Triple-A Pawtucket to take Victorino’s spot on the 25-man roster.

Victorino, who was brought along slowly during spring training, suffered a right hamstring strain while running the bases in Saturday’s Grapefruit League finale against the Minnesota Twins. His DL stint is retroactive to March 30.

Bradley was optioned to Triple-A on Friday after Red Sox manager John Farrell announced Grady Sizemore would be his Opening Day center fielder. Bradley will come off the bench upon rejoining the Red Sox on Monday, as Mike Carp is slated to start in left field while Daniel Nava shifts over to right field.
