The New England Patriots made some serious moves this offseason, adding Darrelle Revis and Brandon Browner to revamp their secondary in addition to re-signing wide receiver Julian Edelman.
But the Patriots weren’t the only squad in the AFC East bolstering its roster. The New York Jets, Miami Dolphins and Buffalo Bills also acquired new talent to upgrade in 2014.
The Jets missed out on a reunion with Revis — and almost every other free agent they were linked to during the offseason — but New York did land one significant name: Eric Decker. More recently, the Jets made waves when they announced they had released quarterback Mark Sanchez and signed free-agent quarterback Michael Vick.
Meanwhile, in Florida, the Dolphins made a splash by adding offensive tackle Branden Albert and cornerback Cortland Finnegan while re-signing Randy Starks and Brent Grimes. Miami still is looking to add a running back and a tackle, but the ‘Fins are in good position to do so, as they are about $20 million under the salary cap.
Finally, the Bills snagged free-agent middle linebacker Brandon Spikes, signing him to a one-year contract. Buffalo also made a huge statement in signing former Ravens cornerback Corey Graham to a four-year contract, and the Bills hosted wide receiver Kenny Britt on Friday, although he left Buffalo without a contract.
