Trevor GretzkyAnother Gretzky has been traded to Los Angeles.

The Chicago Cubs traded Trevor Gretzky, the son of Hockey Hall of Famer Wayne, to the Los Angeles Angels for catcher Matt Scioscia, the son of their manager, Mike.

Gretzky, a 21-year-old outfielder, was first drafted by the Cubs in the seventh round three years ago. He has hit .288 with one home run in two minor league seasons.

Angels general manager Jerry Dipoto referred to the 21-year-old rookie as a “long, lean, lefty with a good swing” who will “have an opportunity to show us what he can do,” according to Orange County Register beat writer Jeff Fletcher.

Gretzky, who grew up in suburban L.A. after his father famously was traded there, is thankful for his new opportunity so close to home.
