Los Angeles Angels first baseman Albert Pujols became the 26th player to hit 500 home runs Tuesday night at Nationals Park, and coincidentally, an Angels fan was lucky enough to catch the milestone ball.
Tom Sherrill, a Pomona, Calif. native and member of the Air Force, caught the slugger’s historic hit in the top of the fifth inning. But perhaps the most surprising part of the story is that he’s planning on giving the ball back to Pujols. For free.

However, Pat Doney, who is a sports reporter for NBC5 in Dallas-Fort Worth, also tweeted that Sherrill said he wouldn’t say no to anything that the Angels wanted to offer.
