Boston Bruins Recall Ryan Spooner From Providence On Emergency Basis

Ryan SpoonerThe Boston Bruins have recalled forward Ryan Spooner from the Providence Bruins on an emergency basis, general manager Peter Chiarelli announced Tuesday. Spooner will join the team for practice Tuesday and will travel to Detroit to face the Red Wings on Wednesday.

Spooner has made 22 appearances with Boston this season, tallying 11 assists. He has appeared in 26 total NHL games for the Boston Bruins.

Spooner has played a big role in the P-Bruins’ success this season, netting 10 goals and 30 assists (second on the team) in 42 games.

Boston finished March in dominant fashion, winning its ninth straight road game with a victory over the Philadelphia Flyers on Sunday.
