Boston Bruins To Face Detroit Red Wings In First Round Of Stanley Cup Playoffs

The first round matchup was set Saturday night after the Columbus Blue Jackets defeated the Florida Panthers 3-2.The Red Wings are now locked into the second wild card spot in the Eastern Conference and will face the top-seeded Boston Bruins, who clinched the Presidents’ Trophy Saturday with a 4-1 win against Buffalo.

The series will start Thursday night at TD Garden with Game 2 likely to be played Saturday before the series shifts to Detroit for Games 3 and 4.

Detroit is the only team to have beaten the Bruins three times in regulation this season, as the B’s went 1-3-0 against the Red Wings.
