Brock Holt’s Red-Hot Bat Carries Over From Pawtucket To Boston (Video)

Brock Holt found out he had gotten the call to Boston around 2 p.m. on Friday, which meant he didn’t arrive to Fenway Park until roughly about two hours before the first pitch of the series opener against the Baltimore Orioles.

It was a hectic afternoon for the third baseman, but you wouldn’t have thought so given his cool and collected performance.

Holt, who was called up from Triple-A Pawtucket to provide an offensive spark for the Red Sox did just that, collecting two hits and an RBI in his season debut with the major league club. While Boston ultimately fell to the O’s 8-4, Holt’s performance was encouraging for a team that desperately needs to get its offense rolling.

Aetna Strikeouts for A Cause

For every strikeout by a Red Sox pitcher at Fenway Park in June, Aetna will donate $250 to Boston Health Care for the Homeless Program. Through their continued efforts in the local community, Aetna is helping to build a healthier world -- one city and one strikeout at a time.
