The Boston Bruins dropped Game 1 of their playoff series against the Detroit Red Wings 1-0, but despite the outcome, the tight game was actually filled with plenty of positives for the Black and Gold.
With Matt Bartkowski, Kevan Miller, Daniel Paille, and Chris Kelly all sidelined for the first game with injuries, Jordan Caron, Corey Potter, Andrej Meszaros, and Justin Florek filled in admirably in their absences, giving the B’s valuable minutes.
The last-minute insertions to the lineup also looked good on the penalty kill, which could have been a problem area for the Bruins with top penalty killers Paille and Kelly both out.
