Ryan SpoonerRyan Spooner’s most recent call-up to the Boston Bruins was a brief, uneventful one.

The Bruins announced Friday afternoon that Spooner has been optioned back to Providence. The 22-year-old was recalled on an emergency basis Tuesday and made the Bruins’ trip to Detroit and Toronto but didn’t appear in either game.

Spooner played in 22 games during his earlier call-up this season after Chris Kelly suffered an injury. Spooner had no goals and 11 assists during that span.

Spooner had been playing well recently in Providence. He battled the flu in late January into February, but he has been a big part of the P-Bruins’ AHL playoff push. Spooner has 10-30-40 totals and is a plus-11 in 42 games with the Baby B’s this season.
