Tuesday marked the one-year anniversary of the tragic bombing at the Boston Marathon finish line. While the city of Boston recognized the anniversary with various tributes, the Red Sox were in Chicago for a three-game series against the White Sox.
In a touching moment of recognition during the seventh-inning stretch, many fans at U.S. Cellular Field sang “Sweet Caroline,” a Fenway Park tradition.
Reminiscent of when a multitude of MLB stadiums played the song last year to honor Boston, the one-year anniversary edition in Chicago was another gracious and appreciated gesture.
And, thanks to Red Sox Nation, plenty of Boston fans were in attendance and had an opportunity to show/sing their pride.
