Dale Earnhardt Jr. is one of the biggest names in NASCAR today. As his recent tweet indicates, however, size wasn’t always his thing.
The popular driver, who joined Twitter after winning the Daytona 500 just over a month ago, took to the Twittersphere on Thursday to take part in “Throwback Thursday.” The results were amazing.
The black and white image below is a grainy photo of the Oak Ridge Military Academy junior varsity basketball team. If you look hard enough, you can spot a diminutive Dale Jr. wearing a No. 13 jersey in the far left of the photo.

Earnhardt Jr. clearly made the right call ditching basketball for racing, but let’s hope he waited until he could actually see over the steering wheel before hopping in the driver’s seat.
