Derek Jeter’s final season as the New York Yankees shortstop has begun, and the first stop on the retirement tour was Houston.

The Astros presented the New York captain with a few retirement gifts Wednesday night, including special cowboy boots that feature Yankee pinstripes and the No 2. He also got a cowboy hat.

Similar to Yankees closer Mariano Rivera during his farewell season in 2013, Jeter is likely to receive gifts when he visits a Major League city for the final time.

Even though the Astros are now an American League team, this week’s series is the Yankees’ only trip to Houston this year.
