Former Patriots tight end Matthew Mulligan has agreed to a one-year contract with the Chicago Bears, the team announced Tuesday night.

Mulligan signed with the Patriots out of training camp in 2013 and played in 15 games, starting four in Rob Gronkowski’s absence. Mulligan caught two passes for 16 yards and one touchdown.

Mulligan gained national notoriety in January when Hulk Hogan mentioned him in a promo video. Mulligan’s wife bought a WWE championship belt, which the tight end brought into the Patriots’ locker room, from Hogan’s store in Florida.

Mulligan originally signed with the Miami Dolphins as an undrafted free agent out of Maine in 2008. He also has spent time with the Tennessee Titans, New York Jets, St. Louis Rams and Green Bay Packers.
