Milwaukee Brewers shortstop Jean Segura is having a little work done to his face, but not by choice.

Segura left Saturday night’s game against the Cubs early after he was hit in the head while teammate Ryan Braun was casually swinging his bat near the dugout. Segura came away with what was described as a “pretty good gash over his eye,” and while he doesn’t have a concussion or fracture, Segura will need plastic surgery to repair the gash, according to Tom Haudricourt of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.

There’s no timetable for Segura’s return to the lineup. Jeff Bianchi will fill in at shortstop for the Brewers.
