Close friendships between teammates have become a defining characteristic of the Boston Red Sox. Team chemistry was even a huge factor in their 2013 World Series run.
So maybe John Lackey was just trying to strengthen that chemistry when he took the time to give Mike Napoli a pretty strong head rub in the dugout during the bottom of the third inning in Saturday’s game against the Baltimore Orioles.
Grady Sizemore was at bat when the camera shifted to capture the special moment during the Sox’s 4-2 victory. No one around the two seemed to be fazed by what was happening.
