Boston College forward Johnny Gaudreau scored a lot of sensational goals this season, but he’s also not afraid to go to the net and score in traffic.
The Hobey Baker Award finalist gave the Eagles an early lead over Union in Thursday’s Frozen Four matchup in Philadelphia when he capitalized on a rebound at the top of the crease with 2:08 gone in the first period.
Kevin Hayes worked his way into a shooting position, but his shot was saved, and Gaudreau found the loose puck first and put it into the net with a backhand shot. Boston College went into the first intermission with a 1-0 edge.
