Chicago Blackhawks captain Jonathan Toews continues to bounce back from his late March injury that removed him from the remainder of the regular season.

Toews recorded his second game-winning goal of this year’s Stanley Cup playoffs Friday night with an impressive overtime tally that pushed his Blackhawks to a 3-2 series lead against the St. Louis Blues.

The 25-year-old center had just entered the game when he received the puck from Duncan Keith and launched it past Blues goalie Ryan Miller for a backhand game winner. The entire play happened in just a few seconds, shocking everyone, from Toews to the announcers.

“It just happened so fast,” Toews said, via Dan Rosen of NHL.com. “I jumped on the ice and got the puck, and it just came right to me and it happened to go in. The celebration — just wasn’t sure if it was real or not, it happened so quick.”

The Blackhawks will try to eliminate the Blues on Sunday when they play Game 6 at their home rink in Chicago.
