Chicago White Sox rookie first baseman Jose Abreu has inspired a long list of complimentary adjectives through the first month of his major league career.
You can add “record-setting” to that list.
The 27-year-old Cuban sensation smashed a two-run home run off Tampa Bay Rays pitcher David Price on Sunday, giving him 29 RBIs so far in April.
That mark broke the record for most RBIs by a rookie in the month of April previously held by current Los Angeles Angels first baseman Albert Pujols, who racked up 27 RBIs in his first full month in the majors in 2001. Check out Abreu’s record-setting tape-measure shot below.

Abreu did not stop there, though, hitting a two-run single the very next inning to give him a total of four RBIs in the 9-2 White Sox win.
Abreu currently leads the majors with 10 home runs and 31 RBIs in just 26 games played this season.
