1397349869_new englandAfter falling to the Houston Dynamo in their season opener, the New England Revolution avenged the early loss with a 2-0 victory Saturday evening at Gillette Stadium.

It was a day of firsts for the Revs as defender Kevin Alston scored his first career goal midway through the second and Jerry Bengston sealed the victory in stoppage time with his first goal of the season.

The Dynamo, who put up four goals against New England in the opening day match, were held without a shot on goal as the Revolution posted its second defensive shutout of the year, both by goalkeeper Bobby Shuttleworth.

The Revs return to action Saturday, April 19, when they face the Chicago Fire.
