Wednesday night’s game between the Boston Red Sox and New York Yankees added another chapter to the heated rivalry with plenty of controversial moments.

Apparently, that rivalry extended to the seats.

An adult fan committed a baseball faux pas when he reached out and snagged a ball intended for a young fan in the first row.

Red Sox shortstop Xander Bogaerts spotted the fan, who was wearing a Yankees hat, while in the batter’s box and decided to forgive his allegiances and toss him an errant baseball. That’s when another fan was seen swooping in to intercept Bogaerts’ toss and deny the young fan his souvenir.

A man to the left in a Yankees jersey appears to be the boy’s father and clearly isn’t amused. Let the rivalry continue.
