Brandin CooksProjected NFL first-round draft pick Brandin Cooks isn’t lacking confidence.

The Oregon State product recently said he can be better than DeSean Jackson if he’s drafted by the Philadelphia Eagles next month. The Eagles could look to draft Cooks after releasing Jackson.

“His game is unbelievable,” Cooks told Philly.com’s Jimmy Kempski about Jackson. “The man can blow the top off, catch the deep routes, catch the underneath routes, produce in the return game. He’s just special. He’s a freak. I definitely admire his game.

“Maybe Chip Kelly is looking to take another speedy receiver in that first round, and that could be me. Who knows? And if that’s the case, a lot of people will wonder ‘Can he do it like DeSean Jackson?’ In my opinion, I can do it like him and do it better.”

Cooks has a similar frame to Jackson and the same game-breaking speed.

Cooks is 5-foot-10 and 189 pounds and ran a 4.33-second 40-yard dash at the NFL Scouting Combine, along with a 6.76-second three-cone drill and 3.81-second 20-yard shuttle. When Jackson came out of Cal in 2008, he ran a 4.35-second 40-yard dash, 6.82-second three-cone drill and 4.19-second shuttle at 5-foot-10 and 169 pounds.

The Eagles hold pick No. 22, which we have them using on Cooks in our latest mock draft.
