Billy Burns lived up to his last name and then some Tuesday.

The 24-year-old speedster, who plays for theĀ Oakland A’s Double-A affiliate, turned on the burners during the second inning of the Midland RockHounds’ game against the Northwest Arkansas Naturals to score on a sacrifice fly.

A seemingly routine play, except for the fact that he scored fromĀ second base.

Burns used his wheels to capitalize on a fly ball hit deep into center field by RockHounds batter D’Arby Myers. The center fielder made a nice catch on the run and quickly threw the ball in, but it was nowhere near in time to catch the speedy Burns.

In the video, we see the speedster fly toward homeĀ just moments after his teammate, who tagged from third on the play, cross the plate.

We might be seeing more in the future from Burns, who stole 74 bases last season while playing in the Washington Nationals’ minor league system. For now, check out Burns’ impressive feat below.
