Another Boston College hockey player has linked up with a NHL team.
Senior center Patrick Brown, who wore the “C” for the Eagles this season, agreed to terms over the weekend on a two-year, entry-level contract with the Carolina Hurricanes.
“Patrick showed tremendous leadership and character while serving as Boston College’s captain this season,” Hurricanes vice president of hockey operations Ron Francis said in a statement Saturday. “He has an excellent work ethic and made great strides during his college career. We look forward to his continued development as a professional.”
The son of former NHL winger Doug Brown, Patrick ranked fourth on the Eagles roster this season with 40 points and third with 15 goals, including a highlight-reel tally from his backside that gave BC a win over Northeastern in the Beanpot final.
He expressed his excitement to sign with the Canes in a tweet Saturday afternoon.

Brown is the third Eagles player to sign with an NHL club following BC’s loss to Union in the Frozen Four last week. Forwards Johnny Gaudreau and Bill Arnold both signed with the Calgary Flames and made their NHL debuts Sunday night in Vancouver.
