Free-agent wide receiver DeSean Jackson traveled to Washington D.C. this week to meet with the Redskins, and he’s already pretty comfortable with some of his potential future teammates.
Jackson hit a club Monday night with Redskins receiver Pierre Garcon, cornerback DeAngelo Hall and D.C.-based rapper Wale, and they seemed to enjoy themselves. Jackson is on the market after the Philadelphia Eagles cut him over an NJ.com report that he has gang ties back home in Los Angeles.
Jackson has denied any involvement in criminal activity, and the Los Angeles Police Department confirmed it’s not targeting Jackson in any investigation.
Wale seemed to think the Eagles’ targeting of Jackson was unfair and mocked Philly coach Chip Kelly when he posted an Instagram picture of the group during its night out.
Wale’s photo featured Garcon, Hall, Jackson and himself — showing two “peace” signs with the caption, “I was on my hippy schwag dear Chip Kelly this is a peace sign,” just to make sure Kelly knew he wasn’t flashing gang signs.
