Red Sox Earn Walk-Off Win Over Orioles On Crazy Final Play (Video)

BOSTON — The Red Sox defeated the Baltimore Orioles in wild fashion Sunday night at Fenway Park.

Mike Carp hit a line drive to left field with the bases loaded and one out in the bottom of the ninth inning. Orioles left fielder David Lough made the catch, but his throw traveled to the backstop and rattled around, allowing Dustin Pedroia to score Boston’s winning run.

The wacky final play capped a dramatic, come-from-behind 6-5 win in which Boston rallied from five runs down. Jonny Gomes gave the Red Sox life in the sixth inning with a three-run homer into the Monster Seats. Boston added two runs in the seventh inning before eventually walking off with the victory in the ninth.

It was a crazy ending to a very eventful game. In fact, it’s difficult to put into words, really, so check out the video below.
