Carmelo Anthony, Jared SullingerThe New York Knicks’ soon-to-be free agent forward Carmelo Anthony will definitely attract a lot of suitors, and the New York Daily News is reporting that the Chicago Bulls are one of them.

Anthony becomes a free agent on July 1, and the Bulls, who were eliminated from the playoffs Wednesday with a loss to the Washington Wizards, are expected to make him an offer.

“It will obviously be an active summer for us,” Bulls GM Gar Forman said.

It certainly will be if they do go for Anthony. In order to have the cap room for him, the Bulls would likely have to make a trade, which would probably involve power forward Carlos Boozer. The Bulls will be looking to make moves to strengthen the team for the return of Derrick Rose.

Still, the Bulls are going to have to do a lot better than the Knicks if they want Anthony to consider Chicago.

Anthony was seen dining with Knicks president Phil Jackson in New York on Tuesday, and the team, who owes the Denver Nuggets their 2014 lottery pick as a result of the Anthony trade, isn’t going to want to let him go so easily.
