The Jacksonville Jaguars are sorting through quarterbacks available in the 2014 NFL draft this week.
The Jaguars are scheduled to host Texas A&M’s Johnny Manziel, Central Florida’s Blake Bortles, Fresno State’s Derek Carr, Louisville’s Teddy Bridgewater and Eastern Illinois’ Jimmy Garoppolo on pre-draft visits, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported Tuesday, via a source. The Jaguars are only allowed to interview those players. Workouts aren’t permitted.
The Jaguars also are scheduled to meet with Buffalo outside linebacker Khalil Mack, a projected top-10 pick, this week.
The Jaguars hold the No. 3 overall pick in the draft. They pick seventh (No. 39 overall) in the second round.
Manziel, Bortles, Bridgewater and Carr are projected as first-round picks, though there are reports that top quarterbacks could slide to the second round. Garoppolo is among a second tier of quarterback prospects projected to be drafted starting in the second round.
Veteran signal-caller Chad Henne currently is penciled in atop the Jaguars’ quarterback depth chart. That could change depending on whom the Jaguars select in the draft.
