Johnny ManzielThe New England Patriots hosted Johnny Manziel on a pre-draft visit earlier this month, but the Texas A&M quarterback isn’t expected to drop to their No. 29 overall pick.

Manziel won’t fall out of the top 10 in the 2014 draft, league talent evaluators told NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport. There are several QB-needy teams in the top 10, including the Houston Texans, Jacksonville Jaguars, Cleveland Browns, Oakland Raiders, Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Minnesota Vikings.

Manziel became the first freshman to win the Heisman Trophy in 2012 after completing 69.9 percent of his passes for 4,114 yards with 37 touchdowns and 13 interceptions. He threw for 3,706 yards as a sophomore in 2013 with a 68 percent completion percentage, 26 touchdowns and nine interceptions. He ran for over 2,100 yards in two seasons with the Aggies and scored 30 rushing touchdowns.

“Johnny Football” ran a 4.68-second 40-yard dash at the NFL Scouting Combine in February and also had a 6.75-second three-cone drill and 4.03-second short shuttle.
