An Oklahoma City Thunder star converted a miraculous 4-point play to force overtime in an NBA Western Conference playoff game against the Memphis Grizzlies.
No, this article wasn’t written two days ago. The incredible happened again on Thursday night.
Just one game after Kevin Durant hit a ridiculous 3-pointer from the corner while getting fouled to send Game 2 into overtime, his sidekick Russell Westbrook did his best imitation of Durant with a clutch 4-point play of his own.
The Thunder trailed 85-81 with less than 30 seconds left in regulation when Westbrook dribbled to the top of the 3-point line and went up for a shot.
As he was in the air, Grizzlies guard Tony Allen made contact with Westbrook’s shooting elbow and was called for the foul. The ball sailed through the net, and Westbrook buried the resulting free throw to tie the game at 85-85.

Unfortunately for the Thunder, overtime produced the same result as it had in Game 2. Spurred by a Mike Conley 3-pointer early in the extra period, Memphis battled to a 98-95 victory at FedEx Forum to take a 2-1 series lead.
Maybe Oklahoma City should lay off the 4-point plays in Game 4.
