Buffalo Sabres defenseman Jake McCabe was ejected from Saturday’s game when he hit Boston Bruins forward Daniel Paille up high during the third period.
Paille, who has battled two concussions this season, looked dazed when he got up from the ice and was helped to the bench. Bruins center Gregory Campbell immediately came to his linemate’s defense and picked up a minor penalty for roughing.
McCabe was given a five-minute major penalty for interference.
