The Detroit Red Wings didn’t get too many quality scoring chances Tuesday night against the Boston Bruins, and when they did, Tuukka Rask was there to slam the door shut.

Rask, who finished with 23 saves in a 3-0 win, turned in his best stop of the night early in the third period.

With the Bruins leading 2-0, Red Wings forward Justin Abdelkader corralled a loose puck in front of the crease and tried to sneak a backhander past the Bruins netminder. Rask was up to the task, though, cutting down Abdelkader’s angle and using an outstretched glove to keep the puck out of the net.

The win gave the Bruins a 2-1 lead in the best-of-seven Eastern Conference quarterfinals. Game 4 is set for Thursday night in Detroit.
