Xander BogaertsBOSTON — Red Sox shortstop Xander Bogaerts has started all 17 games this season. He’ll receive a day off Saturday.

Jonathan Herrera (shortstop) and Brock Holt (third base) will man the left side of the Red Sox’s infield for Boston’s matinee showdown against the Baltimore Orioles at Fenway Park. Holt, who was recalled from Triple-A Pawtucket on Friday, will bat seventh and Herrera will bat eighth.

Mike Carp will get his second consecutive start for the Red Sox. Carp started at first base Friday while Mike Napoli served as the designated hitter in David Ortiz’s absence. Carp will head out to left field for Saturday’s contest and bat fifth.

Grady Sizemore, who played left field at Fenway for the first time Friday, will shift over to right field Saturday with Carp in left. Red Sox manager John Farrell said Sizemore bouncing around the outfield is more a product of Boston utilizing his athleticism than trying to get a certain number of looks at each position. The fact that Sizemore is starting a day game after a night game, though, is another sign the 31-year-old is responding well to everything physically this season.

Saturday’s complete lineups are below.
