11:17 p.m.: The NFL draft’s third round concludes with the San Francisco 49ers’ selection of Clemson guard Brandon Thomas with the 100th pick. Thomas tore his ACL while preparing for the draft, so he won’t be an immediate contributor. The 49ers have experience with this situation, though, as they drafted running back Marcus Lattimore last year after he also suffered a knee injury.
The NFL draft continues Saturday with Rounds 4 through 7 at Radio City Music Hall, starting at noon ET. The New England Patriots have seven picks, with three each in the fourth and sixth rounds. As always, the Patriots could move around as they target players they covet on their draft board.

11:14 p.m.: Two more picks are in, and both are tight ends — California’s Richard Rodgers (no relation to Aaron) to the Green Bay Packers at No. 98 and Colorado State’s Crockett Gilmore to the Baltimore Ravens at No. 99.
The San Francisco 49ers will close out the third round with the 100th pick.
11:11 p.m.: Running backs are flying off draft boards now, with Georgia Southern’s Jerick McKinnon picked by the Minnesota Vikings at No. 96, and Kent State’s Dri Archer going to the Pittsburgh Steelers at No. 97. Eight running backs have been selected since the Tennessee Titans took Bishop Sankey at No. 54.
11:04 p.m.: Michigan offensive tackle Michael Schofield goes to the Denver Broncos at No. 95.
The Minnesota Vikings hold the 96th pick, then we go into the compensatory selections. There are four in this round, owned by the Pittsburgh Steelers, Green Bay Packers, Baltimore Ravens and San Francisco 49ers.
11:02 p.m.: The Cleveland Browns aren’t done dealing, sending two picks (Nos. 106 and 180) to the San Francisco 49ers for the 94th selection, which is used on Towson running back Terrance West. The Browns, who need more roster depth, have picked five players in the first three rounds.
10:57 p.m.: The Jacksonville Jaguars take Miami guard Brandon Linder with the pick they acquired from the New England Patriots, who receive a fourth-round pick (No. 105) and a sixth-round pick (No. 179). Linder is a native Floridian who must be happy to be staying home.
LSU guard Trai Turner goes to the Carolina Panthers at No. 92.
10:54 p.m.: The New England Patriots have traded the 93rd pick to the Jacksonville Jaguars. Details to come.
10:48 p.m.: An Indianapolis Colts season-ticket holder takes the stage with some great news for his team’s quarterback, Andrew Luck. The Colts take Ole Miss wide receiver Donte Moncrief with the 90th pick, adding more speed to an already-explosive offense.
Moncrief ran a 4.4-second 40-yard dash at the NFL Scouting Combine in February and showed some serious hops with a 39.5-inch vertical jump and a 132-inch broad jump.
10:46 p.m.: West Virginia defensive end Will Clarke goes to the Cincinnati Bengals at No. 88, and the San Diego Chargers take Notre Dame guard Chris Watt at No. 89.
10:40 p.m.: Hall of Famer Curley Culp joins NFL commissioner Roger Goodell at the podium to announce the Kansas City Chiefs’ selection of Rice cornerback Phillip Gaines with the 87th pick.
10:35 p.m.: Oregon wide receiver Josh Huff reunites with coach Chip Kelly, whose Philadelphia Eagles select the ex-Duck with the No. 86 pick. Huff seemingly is the replacement for DeSean Jackson, whom the Eagles cut in the offseason, since he’s a burner who can made the slot or flanker spots. Huff ran a 4.51-second 40-yard dash at the NFL Scouting Combine.
10:34 p.m.: The Green Bay Packers address a defensive need with their first of two third-round picks, taking Southern Miss defensive Khyri Thornton at No. 85. Green Bay’s defense hasn’t been great the past few seasons, so this is a good move.
10:29 p.m.: Louis Nix’s long wait is over, as he goes to the Houston Texans at No. 83. Many had the Notre Dame nose tackle being picked late in the first round, so the Texans shipped a fourth-round pick (No. 101) and a fifth-round pick (No. 141) to the Philadelphia Eagles to grab him. Phenomenal find at this stage of the game.
North Carolina defensive end Kareem Martin is an Arizona Cardinal with the 84th pick.
10:25 p.m.: The Oakland Raiders gave quarterback Derek Carr, their second-round pick, some protection by selecting Mississippi State guard Gabe Jackson at No. 81. Good value there.
Arizona State defensive tackle Will Sutton is the Chicago Bears’ pick at No. 82.
10:20 p.m.: The hometown fans hear the news that their New York Jets have taken Maryland defensive back Dexter McDougle at No. 80. Mild applause.
Awaiting word on whom the Oakland Raiders and Chicago Bears picked at No. 81 and No. 82, respectively.
10:16 p.m.: Florida State safety Terrence Brooks goes to the Baltimore Ravens with the 79th pick. It’s been a very Ravens draft so far, with the team concentrating on bulking up its traditionally strong defense.
10:14 p.m.: Another offensive lineman for the Washington Redskins, who pick Nebraska guard Spencer Long at No. 78. That makes three consecutive O-lineman for the ‘Skins.
10:11 p.m.: The Detroit Lions have taken Arkansas center Travis Swanson with the 76th pick. The San Francisco 49ers find some nice value in picking Wisconsin linebacker Chris Borland, who some pegged with a second-round grade, at No. 77.
The Baltimore Ravens turned in the 79th pick, and the announcement that the New York Jets are on the clock wakes up the Radio City Music Hall crowd a bit.
10:07 p.m.: The St. Louis Rams go with Auburn running back Tre Mason at No. 75. Meanwhile, the Washington Redskins have turned in their No. 78 pick, and the Baltimore Ravens are on the clock.
10:04 p.m.: The Buffalo Bills take Louisville linebacker Preston Brown at No. 73. Syracuse defensive tackle Jay Bromley is the New York Giants’ pick at No. 74.
9:59 p.m.: Iowa linebacker Christian Kirksey goes to the Cleveland Browns at No. 71. The Minnesota Vikings follow by taking Oregon State defensive end Scott Crichton at No. 72.
The St. Louis Rams made their selection, which is unknown, putting the Detroit Lions on the clock with the 76th pick.
9:54 p.m.: USC center Marcus Martin becomes the last player to escape the green room when the San Francisco 49ers select him 70th overall. NFL commissioner Roger Goodell, whose night seemingly was done, returned to the podium to announce Martin’s selection. Classy move.
The New York Giants have turned in their pick. The St. Louis Rams are on the clock with the 75th pick.
9:51 p.m.: Add the Buffalo Bills to the list of teams that have picked. Waiting on word of who it is. The New York Giants are on the clock with the 74th pick.
9:50 p.m.: The San Francisco 49ers, Cleveland Browns and Minnesota Vikings have made their picks, but they haven’t been announced. Teams are starting to speed up the process. Do they have dinner plans or something?
9:46 p.m.: West Virginia running back Charles Sims is a Tampa Bay Buccaneer with the No. 69 pick.
9:45 p.m.: Wisconsin defensive back Dezmen Southward goes to the Atlanta Falcons at No. 68.
The picks now are coming fast and furious. Teams have five minutes to select in the third round, compared to seven minutes in the second round and 10 minutes in the third round.
9:44 p.m.: The Miami Dolphins acquired the No. 67 pick from the Oakland Raiders and selected North Dakota State offensive tackle Billy Turner. He’s the second tackle the Dolphins have taken in this draft, after Miami reached to pick Ja’Wuan James in the first round. Quarterback Ryan Tannehill likely is smiling at this development.
9:37 p.m.: The Washington Redskins obviously know Robert Griffin III needs better protection, so they used the No. 66 pick on Virginia offensive tackle Morgan Moses.
9:35 p.m.: The Houston Texans open the third round by taking Iowa tight end C.J. Fiedorowicz with the No. 65 pick. The Patriots badly need tight end depth, but their options are dwindling in the draft.
9:31 p.m.: The Seattle Seahawks close the second round by taking Missouri offensive tackle Justin Britt with the No. 64 pick.
9:29 p.m.: The Miami Dolphins used the No. 63 pick on LSU’s Jarvis Landry, an explosive wide receiver who will have to deal with the Patriots’ stronger secondary consisting of Darrelle Revis and Brandon Browner.
9:25 p.m.: The Patriots have a new backup quarterback, Jimmy Garoppolo, whom they took with the No. 62 pick. Garoppolo played at Eastern Illinois, Tony Romo’s alma mater, and visited the Patriots last month, as the team did its due diligence on the QB prospects.
Tom Brady will be 37 next season, so the Patriots need to start thinking about their future without him. Ryan Mallett could be on his way out of New England, if the trade with the Houston Texans is finalized, so Garoppolo would step right in as the No. 2 signal-caller.
Patriots legend Willie McGinest announced the Garoppolo pick and was roundly booed by the New York Jets at Radio City Music Hall. McGinest toyed with the fans, too, saying, “Your New England Patriots select …” before saying Garoppolo’s name.
9:17 p.m.: The Jaguars double-dip on wide receivers in the second round, trading up to No. 61 to select Penn State’s Allen Robinson. Jacksonville knows its offense is a concern and is addressing it.
9:13 p.m.: The Panthers selected Missouri defensive end Kony Ealy with the No. 60 overall pick. Ealy was expected to be a first- or early second-round pick.
9:12 p.m.:Â The Indianapolis Colts selected Ohio State guard Jack Mewhort with the No. 59 overall pick. That’s the Colts’ first pick of the 2014 NFL draft.
The Panthers, 49ers and Patriots all have made their selections. The Dolphins are on the clock.
9:05 p.m.:Â The Saints took a big cornerback out of Nebraska — Stanley Jean-Baptiste. Jean-Baptiste has Richard Sherman size and speed. He’s 6-foot-3, 218 pounds, and he’ll need to be fit into a special role to excel in the NFL, according to most analysts.
9:02 p.m.: The run on running backs is very real. The 49ers selected Ohio State running back Carlos Hyde No. 57 overall. He’s the third running back in the last four picks — and the last 57 picks. Hyde was widely regarded as the top running back in the draft by pundits, analysts and scouts.
The Saints, Colts and Panthers have selected. The 49ers are on the clock at No. 61.
8:56 p.m.:Â The Bengals added another running back at No. 55 in LSU’s Jeremy Hill. He’ll combine with Giovani Bernard and BenJarvus Green-Ellis for one of the best running back stables in the NFL.
The Denver Broncos selected Indiana wide receiver Cody Latimer No. 56 overall. Latimer will replace Eric Decker as an outside receiver.
The Dolphins and 49ers have made their picks. The Saints are on the clock at No. 59 overall.
8:46 p.m.:Â The Titans grabbed a starting running back at No. 54 overall in Washington’s Bishop Sankey. Sankey proved he could be a workhorse running back who can catch out of the backfield and block during his college career.
Sankey is the first running back off the board.
8:44 p.m.:Â The Packers selected Fresno State receiver Davante Adams. The Packers lost Greg Jennings and James Jones in consecutive years and needed to build back up their receiver corps.
The Titans’ and Bengals’ picks are in, and the San Francisco 49ers are on the clock.
8:39 p.m.: The Cardinals selected Notre Dame tight end Troy Niklas, who was expected to be drafted by the Patriots at No. 62 overall. The top tight ends quickly are running out. Iowa’s C.J. Fiedorowicz is the last of the top five tight ends available.
The Packers’ and Titans’ picks are in. The Cincinnati Bengals are on the clock.
8:34 p.m.:Â The Bears grabbed LSU defensive tackle Ego Ferguson No. 51 overall. Ferguson wasn’t projected as a second-round pick, but he was highly rated by some analysts.
8:31 p.m.:Â The Chargers traded up with the Dolphins for the No. 50 overall pick to take Georgia Tech pass rusher Jeremiah Attaochu. He’ll play outside linebacker in the Chargers’ 3-4.
The Chicago Bears and Arizona Cardinals have made their picks. The Green Bay Packers are on the clock at No. 53.
8:28 p.m.:Â The Jets’ pick is in. New York grabbed Texas Tech tight end Jace Amaro with the No. 49 overall pick. Jets fans were pumped. Amaro won’t block much, but he’s a big target in the slot for whoever starts at quarterback for the Jets.
The Patriots were potential suitors for Amaro at No. 62. Notre Dame’s Niklas and Iowa’s Fiedorowicz remain among top five tight ends.
8:22 p.m.: The Ravens’ pick is in, and Florida State’s Timmy Jernigan finally is off the board. The Ravens got a potential steal in Jernigan, who had inconsistent play in college.
The Chicago Bears are on the clock. The New York Jets and Miami Dolphins, who traded the No. 50 pick to the San Diego Chargers, have made their picks.
8:20 p.m.:Â The Redskins finally made a pick. They selected Stanford pass rusher Trent Murphy No. 47 overall. Murphy had nice production with the Cardinal, but he lacks ideal NFL athleticism and strength. He projects to play outside linebacker, where the Redskins already have Ryan Kerrigan and Brian Orakpo.
8:17 p.m.: The Pittsburgh Steelers took a Patriots-fan favorite – Notre Dame defensive lineman Stephon Tuitt. Tuitt can play five-technique defensive end and three-technique defensive tackle. He showed a lot of promise in 2012 before having a down season as a junior last year.
The Redskins and Ravens have made their picks. The Jets are on the clock.
8:15 p.m.: The Seahawks finally found time to make a draft pick. They selected Colorado wide receiver Paul Richardson. The Seahawks needed a receiver after losing Golden Tate to the Lions. Richardson is extremely fast, but he’s slightly undersized at just 175 pounds.
The Steelers, Redskins and Baltimore Ravens have made their picks. The New York Jets are on the clock.
8:08 p.m.:Â The Buffalo Bills took a risk by selecting Alabama offensive tackle Cyrus Kouandijo, who reportedly has arthritic knees.
Kouandijo likely will play right tackle for the Bills. They have a massive pair of tackles in Kouandijo and Cordy Glenn. Bills fans seemed happy with the pick.
The Seahawks and Pittsburgh Steelers have made their picks. The Redskins still are on the clock.
8:04 p.m.:Â The Giants selected Colorado State center Weston Richburg. The Giants desperately needed offensive line help, and Richburg should man that front.
The Buffalo Bills, who traded up for Clemson wide receiver Sammy Watkins in the first round, and the Seahawks already have picked. The Washington Redskins, who did not have a first-round pick, are on the clock.
8:02 p.m.: The Eagles grabbed a big receiver in Vanderbilt’s Jordan Matthews. He timed very well at the NFL Scouting Combine, but he didn’t always show 4.4 speed on the field.
Matthews is Jerry Rice’s distant cousin.
The Giants, who selected LSU wideout Odell Beckham in the first round, are up next.
7:55 p.m.:Â The defensive backs continue to fly off the board. The Rams selected Florida State cornerback LeMarcus Joyner with the No. 41 overall pick after trading up with the Buffalo Bills.
The Eagles’, Giants’ and Bills’ picks are in. The Seahawks are on the clock at No. 45 overall.
7:52 p.m.:Â The Lions traded up to grab a versatile linebacker, BYU’s Kyle Van Noy. Van Noy can rush the passer and cover running backs and tight ends.
The Rams’ selection is in. The Philadelphia Eagles are on the board after trading up with the Tennessee Titans for the 42nd overall pick. They took Louisville pass rusher Marcus Smith in the first round.
7:45 p.m.:Â The Jaguars stayed put to take USC wideout Marqise Lee. The Jaguars desperately needed a wide receiver, and if Lee’s knee is healthy, they might have grabbed the best one in the draft.
Jags fans went nuts for the pick, and Jets fans are not happy. The Jets reportedly tried to trade up to get Lee.
The Lions have selected, and the St. Louis Rams are on the board after trading up with the Buffalo Bills.
7:37 p.m.:Â The second best tight end is off the board. The Buccaneers announced they selected Washington’s Austin Seferian-Jenkins, who was a potential Patriots target.
The Jaguars have selected, and the Seattle Seahawks are on the clock.
The Seahawks traded out once again with the Detroit Lions.
7:34 p.m.:Â The Falcons needed a tight end and pass rusher, and they took neither. Atlanta grabbed Minnesota defensive tackle Ra’Shede Hageman No. 37 overall.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers already have picked, and the Jacksonville Jaguars are on the clock.
7:27 p.m.:Â The Oakland Raiders filled a defensive need with Khalil Mack in the first round, and they were still able to get their top rated quarterback — Fresno State’s Derek Carr — with the No. 36 overall pick.
Yikes.
The Atlanta Falcons, who selected offensive tackle Jake Matthews in the first round, are on the clock. They need a tight end and a pass rusher.
7:23 p.m.:Â The Browns passed on all the top wide receiver available and chose versatile offensive lineman Joel Bitonio. The Nevada blocker can play right tackle or guard for the Browns. The Browns won’t have a chance to select a wide receiver until they pick again at No. 71 overall — unless they trade up, of course.
The Oakland Raiders are on the clock.
7:18 p.m.:Â The Cowboys grabbed Boise State defensive end DeMarcus Lawrence to replace DeMarcus Ware, who was released and signed with the Denver Broncos, at defensive end.
The Cleveland Browns are on the clock and could be looking to select a receiver with starter Josh Gordon reportedly facing a 16-game suspension for violating the substance-abuse policy. USC’s Marqise Lee is the best receiver available.
7:14Â p.m.:Â The Houston Texans have started Day 2 of the 2014 NFL draft by selecting UCLA guard Xavier Su’a-Filo. The Texans will push their need at quarterback until later in the draft.
Su’a-Filo is versatile and athletic. He’s definitely one of the best players left in the draft, but the Texans still only have T.J. Yates, Ryan Fitzpatrick and Case Keenum at quarterback.
The Dallas Cowboys traded up with the Washington Redskins for the No. 34 pick. It’s odd for division rivals to trade in the draft. Eastern Illinois QB Jimmy Garoppolo would be an interesting pick here because he went to the same school as Tony Romo. The Cowboys should look to get a defensive tackle.
The Cowboys traded their 47th pick and 78th pick for the No. 34 overall pick.
7:03 p.m.:Â The Texans officially are on the clock. There are tons of great players available, and the buzz is that they won’t select a QB at No. 33.
6:56 p.m.:Â The NFLÂ legends who will announce each team’s second-round draft pick are being announced at Radio City Music Hall right now. Defensive end Willie McGinest will announce the Patriots’ No. 62 overall selection — if they use it, of course.
McGinest received a loud ovation when he was introduced.
5:45 p.m.: Day 2 of the 2014 NFL draft is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m., when the Houston Texans will be back on the clock.
The Texans still need to acquire a quarterback after making South Carolina defensive end Jadeveon Clowney the first overall pick on Thursday. The Texans have just Case Keenum, T.J. Yates and Ryan Fitzpatrick at quarterback, so their need is very, very great.
A few quality quarterbacks still are available, including Fresno State’s Derek Carr, Eastern Illinois’ Jimmy Garoppolo and Alabama’s A.J. McCarron. The Texans could elect to trade down in the second round or even wait until the third round to take a signal-caller.
The Patriots draft at No. 62 and No. 93 overall on Day 2, though it wouldn’t be surprising to see them move up and down in the draft. The Patriots should be focused on getting quarterback Tom Brady a weapon or blocker on offense.
