Jemea ThomasThe New England Patriots signed another 2014 NFL draft pick on Friday.

Sixth-round draft pick Jemea Thomas signed his rookie contract with the Patriots, his agency tweeted on Friday. The former Georgia Tech defensive back was selected No. 206 overall in last weekend’s draft.

Thomas played cornerback and safety with the Yellow Jackets, recording 234 tackles with five sacks and 13.5 tackles for loss in four seasons. He also had nine interceptions and 29 passes defended.

Thomas ran a 4.52-second 40-yard dash at the NFL Scouting Combine in February. At his pro day in March, Thomas ran a 7.03-second three-cone and 4.25-second short shuttle and posted a 10-foot-2 broad jump and 36-inch vertical leap.

Thomas’ versatility could allow him to play a similar role to the one Marquice Cole served in 2012 and 2013, playing cornerback, safety and special teams for the Patriots.

The Patriots also have signed running back James White (fourth round), offensive tackle Cameron Fleming (offfensive tackle), defensive end Zach Moore (sixth round) and wide receiver Jeremy Gallon (seventh round).
