Oakland Athletics’ Jed Lowrie: Red Sox ‘Taught Me How To Win’ (Video)

Jed Lowrie came up through the Red Sox organization and spent the first four years of his major league career with Boston from 2008 through 2011.

The 30-year-old shortstop played for the Houston Astros in 2012 before joining the Oakland Athletics for the 2013 season. He’s now in his second year with Oakland, and he has started the 2014 campaign strong with a .283 batting average and 30 hits in 29 games.

Check out the video above to watch Lowrie talk about his time in Boston and success in Oakland.

Aetna Strikeouts for A Cause

For every strikeout by a Red Sox pitcher at Fenway Park in June, Aetna will donate $250 to Boston Health Care for the Homeless Program. Through June 25, the donation mark stands at $30,000.

Through their continued efforts in the local community, Aetna is helping to build a healthier world -- one city and one strikeout at a time.
