Oregon State men’s basketball coach Craig Robinson was fired Monday after six seasons with the Beavers. Robinson is the brother of First Lady Michelle Obama.

Robinson took over the Oregon State men’s basketball team in 2008, just months before his sister’s husband, Barack Obama, was elected as the 44th president of the United States.

While his brother-in-law enjoyed a victory in the polls, Robinson failed to find success on the basketball court. The 52-year-old Chicago native led the previously moribund Beavers to a respectable 18-18 record in his first season as head coach but led the team to only one season above .500 after that.

Robinson finished with an overall record of 93-104 in Corvallis and failed to make the NCAA tournament during his tenure.

Maybe his influential in-law can find him some work in politics.
