Buffalo Bills legend Jim Kelly was dealt a pretty rotten hand, but the Pro Football Hall of Famer cleared another important hurdle on Wednesday.

Kelly completed his final round of radiation in his continued battle with sinus cancer, his family and the team revealed Wednesday. Kelly completed chemotherapy just over a week ago, which makes for an encouraging stretch for the former Bills quarterback.

The news was shared by Kelly’s family, as his wife and daughter posted photos from the final day of treatment.

Kelly also addressed the gathering of family and friends who met him at the hospital. It’s understandably emotional.

The Kelly camp was optimistic when the original diagnosis of his cancer was revealed in 2013. Kelly had surgery to remove part of his upper jawbone to get rid of the cancer. However, Kelly learned in  March that the cancer had returned.
