The Boston Bruins erased a two-goal deficit in the third period to stun the Montreal Canadiens en route to a 5-3 Game 2 win Saturday afternoon at TD Garden.
After getting caught up in the emotions for the better part of two periods, the B’s regrouped after the middle frame and pulled out a spectacular third period. Patrice Bergeron tied the game 3-3 with 5:43 remaining to send the TD Garden crowd in a frenzy. Reilly Smith scored the go-ahead goal just minutes later, but Brad Marchand told NESN’s Jack Edwards after the game that after Bergeron’s goal, the players just knew they were going to get the next one — and the other after that, as well.
