The New York Rangers were able to pull off a 3-2 win over the Pittsburgh Penguins in Game 1 of their second-round playoff series thanks to some overtime heroics.

Rangers center Derick Brassard beat Pens goalie Marc-Andre Fleury with a wrist shot from the left side 3:06 into overtime, but it hit the crossbar and came back out, so it was initially waved off. However, Brassard managed to get the puck to Benoit Pouliot seconds later, who scored easily on a struggling Fleury.

After review, the first goal was credited to Brassard.
