It’s become tradition for Major League Baseball players to don pink accessories — bats, wristbands, cleats, etc. — each Mother’s Day. They all were upstaged this season, though, by Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Carlos Gomez, who dyed his trademark chin beard bright pink for Sunday’s matinee matchup with the New York Yankees.

The pinked-out Gomez went 1-for-3 with a run scored in the contest, and his Brewers were able to pull out a dramatic 6-5 victory in front of the home crowd.

After Yankees first baseman Mark Teixeira homered off Brewers closer Francisco Rodriguez to tie the game at five runs apiece in the ninth, Mark Reynolds singled home Rickie Weeks in the bottom of the inning to give the Brew Crew a walk-off win.
