The Boston Bruins’ Swedish connections just got a little bit stronger.

B’s prospect Linus Arnesson tweeted Friday afternoon that he’s signed his first professional contract with the Bruins. Boston took the Swedish defenseman in the second round of the 2013 NHL entry draft. The Bruins have yet to announce anything in regard to the apparent deal.

Arnesson, 19, played 44 games this season with Djurgaden in the Allsvenskan league. He scored a goal and added five assists. Arnesson also played on Sweden’s world junior team earlier in the year.

He’s thought to be a defensive-minded defenseman who could end up being a solid shutdown D-man. He also has decent size at 6-foot-1, 189 pounds.
