BOSTON — The Bruins were held scoreless for more than two periods in Thursday night’s playoff series opener before Reilly Smith scored on Montreal Canadiens goaltender Carey Price. And that opened the floodgates.

At 2:44 of the period, Smith positioned himself along the half wall and, as Canadiens defenseman Andrei Markov skated toward him, fired a wrist shot that found its way past Price with Bruins forward Patrice Bergeron setting a screen in front of the net.

A little less than four minutes later, Milan Lucic found Torey Krug jumping into the play in the offensive zone, and the 23-year-old D-man ripped a perfect shot past Price to tie the score at 2 and send the TD Garden crowd into a frenzy.
