John Mastromonaco, a landscaper and Canadiens fan, was listening to a Montreal sports radio station discuss Price’s tweet when he spotted two Labs walking along the side of the road.

“Almost simultaneously, I crossed these two dogs that were following this jogger, but they weren’t on a leash. I found it kind of weird,” Mastromonaco told CBC Montreal’s “Daybreak.”

After confirming the dogs did not belong to the jogger, Mastromonaco found Price’s home phone number on the dogs’ collars and finally returned them home at around 6:30 a.m., more than six hours after the goalie sent out his initial plea for assistance. As repayment, Price presented him with a signed stick.

“I rang the bell and Carey came out very happy that I’d found the dogs,” Mastromonaco said. “He gave me a signed stick. I thanked him, wished him luck on Tuesday and that was it.”

Price. his mind now at ease, will be in net Tuesday night as his Canadiens host the Boston Bruins in Game 3 of their second-round Stanley Cup playoff series.
