There are impressive snags and then there is what Philadelphia Phillies catcher Carlos Ruiz did Saturday night.
During the Phillies’ game at Citizens Bank Park against the Cincinnati Reds, Ruiz was standing in the on-deck circle when batter Reid Brignac sent a sharp foul ground ball back in his direction. Ruiz didn’t even have to move his feet as he casually stuck his hand out and barehanded the hot shot off his teammate’s bat like it was no big deal, before tossing it to a lucky fan.
