The Boston Bruins-Montreal Canadiens rivalry is one of the most heated in sports. When the teams meet in the Stanley Cup playoffs and emotions run high, though, it goes to another level.

That was the case in the moments following the Habs’ 4-2 win in Game 3 of their second-round series when Montreal forward Dale Weise reflected on his second-period goal.

Weise scored a breakaway goal to put the Canadiens ahead 3-0 at the time, then pounded his chest in celebration. Some might have taken that as a slight at the Bruins after both Milan Lucic and Torey Krug did the same thing following goals earlier in the series.

Weise told TSN’s Darren Dreger after the game that the celebration indeed was a “shot at Boston.”
