Dan Uggla made one of the most impressive plays of the night on Tuesday. Then he tried to throw the ball.

In the fourth inning of a scoreless game against the St. Louis Cardinals, the Atlanta Braves second baseman made what looked like an amazing web gem when he laid out to snag a ground ball off the bat of Matt Adams.

When he popped up to make the throw, however, Uggla fell victim to the turf monster and suffered an embarrassing wipeout, allowing Adams to trot safely to first base for the single.

Uggla, who took the hometown crowd on a roller coaster of emotions on the play, might have the rare distinction of making the Top 10 and Not Top 10 of sports highlight reels.

Luckily for him, the Cardinals failed to score in the inning and were unable to do much scoring in general. An RBI single in the eighth inning by Braves third baseman Chris Johnson broke a 1-1 tie and propelled Atlanta to a 2-1 win.
